Drive the Future of Trucking Insurance: Innovations Supporting Small Fleets and B-1 Visa Drivers

August 21st, 2024

In an era of rapid evolution within the Transportation industry, insurance coverage must keep pace to effectively address the unique challenges faced by small fleets and B-1 Visa Truck Drivers.  At Workforce Insurance Underwriters, we are proud to announce the recent launch of two innovative products that place these specific needs at the forefront of our offerings: Small Fleet Truckers Occupational Accident Insurance and Truckers Inbound Travel Insurance for Mexican and Canadian B-1 Visa Truck Drivers.  Both policies are designed to provide comprehensive, affordable, and tailored coverage that empowers our agents to better serve the modern trucking landscape.

Addressing Small Fleet Challenges

Small fleets often face significant challenges in securing adequate insurance coverage.  Limited resources and tighter budgets can make it difficult for these operators to afford comprehensive protection, leaving them vulnerable to risks.  Additionally, many insurance providers are reluctant to offer specialized plans to smaller operations, often prioritizing larger fleets with more substantial premiums.

Recognizing these challenges, Workforce Insurance Underwriters has developed a Small Fleet Truckers Occupational Accident Insurance policy.  This unique product seamlessly combines Occupational Accident and Contingent Liability coverage into a single, comprehensive policy.  Designed specifically for non-fleet Motor Carriers and first-time sponsors of Occupational Accident Insurance, this policy offers three tailored plan options—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—to meet the diverse needs of small trucking operations.  With monthly rates starting as low as $91 per person and no medical deductible, we ensure that our policy is not only comprehensive but also affordable, providing a sense of financial security.  Our new offering is truly "The Protection You Need at the Price You Want."

Supporting B-1 Visa Truck Drivers

Mexican and Canadian B-1 Visa Truck Drivers play a crucial role in cross-border logistics, facilitating the seamless movement of goods between their home country and the United States.  However, their unique visa status presents challenges and risks that United States-based trucking companies must carefully consider, particularly concerning Workers Compensation.  These drivers often lose their home country's health insurance and Workers Compensation coverage when crossing into the United States, exposing them to various risks.

To address these challenges, Workforce Insurance Underwriters has launched a Truckers Inbound Travel Insurance policy specifically designed for Mexican and Canadian B-1 Visa Truck Drivers operating in the United States.  This innovative policy combines traditional Occupational Accident Insurance coverages—such as Medical, Disability, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)—with essential Travel Insurance benefits, including coverage for non-work-related Emergency Medical Conditions, Medical Evacuation, and Repatriation.  By providing critical protection for both the drivers and United States-based Motor Carriers, this comprehensive policy ensures that all parties involved can operate with confidence and peace of mind.

Empowering Insurance Agents for Future Growth

Our new policies offer significant opportunities for agents to expand their portfolios and better serve their clients.  By addressing critical gaps in the market, these innovative solutions not only enable agents to provide much-needed safety nets for drivers and shield United States-based Motor Carriers from potential claims but also open up new avenues for growth and success.

At Workforce Insurance Underwriters, we recognize that offering a robust suite of insurance products is just one piece of the puzzle. Equally crucial is empowering our network of agents with the necessary tools and knowledge to thrive.  We have integrated the Contractors Benefits Administration (CBA) platform and underwriting through Joshu into our offerings to support this mission.

CBA Administration

One key feature of our approach is the ease of administration provided by the CBA platform.  This platform allows for seamless online management of driver enrollment and deletions, streamlining the process and making it easier for agents to handle their client needs efficiently.

Joshu Underwriting Platform

By streamlining the underwriting process, our Joshu platform enables agents to quickly assess risk and provide tailored insurance options.  This not only enhances efficiency but also gives agents a sense of control and relief from the stress of managing complex underwriting tasks.
